ROB AUSTIN RACING TO DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
The final race meeting for Rob Austin Racing took place in the sunny climes of Florida at the Daytona International Speedway for the Rolex Endurance Challenge, with the European championship winning Ginetta G50 having been shipped out a few weeks before Max and Chris Petch were ready to take the wheel.
The world famous Daytona International Speedway needs no introduction and it certinatly lived up to its reputation and provided a fantastic atmosphere and setting for such a fantastic selection of cars.
This was the teams second entry to this particular event having run their freshly restored Triumph TR5 here in 2007 with Max and Chris. This time however the drivers gave in to the temptation of the Ginetta G50 and didn't regret it.
To spite an awfull lot of track time including a 90 minite race the Rob Austin Racing machine didn't miss a beat and thanks to the teams modifications for the hot European races they avoided any overheating issues which hindered other cars.
The smiles couldn't be wiped off the drivers faces as they raced around one of the world greatest circuits dicing for position and they both even enjoyed their own visits to victory lane!
“I have to thank my team Rob Austin Racing. They put the “ACE” in race” Said Max Henderson during his post race interview in victory lane.
“I just want to thank Rob and Lucy ( Austin ) for providing us with such a fantastic car” Said Chris after his succseful race.
The guys are already keen to go again in 2010 and Rob Austin Racing will be looking to field a second car to provide them with some real competition.
