Team founder Rob Austin grew up around motorsport and was in a rare and fortunate position to compete at the highest level possible for many years. He started racing karts at 11 and went on to many great achievements, to name just a handful of these… Youngest driver to win a national level motor car race, won the “ London Car Club Mercury Trophy” for most promising British driver, British Formula 3 race winner, British Formula 3 winter champion, top British driver at the Macau Grand Prix and he has raced wheel to wheel with nearly half of the current Formula one drivers at some point in their careers.

Sadly a lack of funding ended Rob's competitive racing career but this meant that Rob Austin Racing was born! Robs vast set up, mechanical engineering and driver coaching experience coupled with some great mechanics he's met along the way are all key to the teams fantastic growth and success in every category it has competed in over the years.

Founded in 2005 the team initially focused its attention on the Ginetta G20 championship successfully running up to 6 cars in only their second season. They then moved on to be one of the most successful teams in the Ginetta G50 championship while handling various historic projects along the way. The team have since gone on to be British GT championship runner up and European GT champions. Meanwhile the historic motorsport side of the company has steadily grown and the team look after a number of classic Formula one cars and touring cars.
